KW Special Projects (KWSP) is a high performance engineering company based in Northamptonshire delivering high tech solutions to their high profile clients. We were approached by them to create an exhibition stand for their space at the Advanced Engineering UK event at the NEC, Birmingham in November 2017. With just two weeks to deliver the job, we visited their premises to get a true understanding of their diverse business and to discuss the areas that they wanted to highlight (Performance Sport, Chassis Technologies and Digital Manufacturing). From this we were able to design various options for them to choose from.
The size of the completed graphic would be 2.5 metres in height, 12 metres in length and made up of three panels. While the brief required us to design the backdrop as one continuous graphic, we also decided to design it in a way where each of the three panels could be used separately without looking out of place at any future event. It was a bold decision to make early on in the process, but we wanted to provide a solution for their budget and to deliver a graphic that could still be used in various ways long after the main event had finished.
Once approval was given on the final design, it was printed on a fabric material with rubber seals stitched along the length of each edge. The rubber seals were then pushed into the constructed metal framework during the installation process and tensioned the graphic to give it a crisp appearance. We then produced the supporting graphic for their front desk which was manufactured in the same way as the main backdrop, along with roll up banners that were used in specific areas around the event. The complete exhibition was on display for three days and gave the company a relaxed setting for them to engage with businesses. At the same time the main backdrop advertised their skills to people walking by, encouraging them to stop and find out more. We continue to work with KWSP in developing their image and exploring other avenues to generate more business for them. To find out more about KWSP, please visit their website here
