The Mission

Jac Maybin has enjoyed great success as a kart racer from a very young age, climbing the ranks on his way towards achieving his lifelong ambition to become a full time professional racing driver. Jac’s ultimate aim is to compete at the world famous Le Mans 24 Hours. Towards the end of 2017, it became clear that Jac's karting success would give him an opportunity to compete in the 2018 JCW Mini Challenge. This is a race series that supports the British GT Championship putting Jac and his race skills on full view, in front of all the leading GT race teams. His management team felt that this was a good opportunity to look at creating a new, updated image for him in his next step on the way to becoming a professional racing driver.


The Creativity

Having worked with Jac's management before, developing his 'Union Jac' brand during his karting career, we already had a good idea of what they expected. Our team looked at various layouts, wanting to create an identity that would incorporate speed with professionalism. They looked at various early options, but as the process developed a simple idea of merging the 'J' from Jac and 'M' from Maybin, produced some interesting ideas.

The Delivery

Developing this idea further, the design started to look similar to a clean outline of a corner on a race track. Jac and his management team liked the correlation, taking to the new logo immediately. Once we had approval of the final version of the logo, implementing the identity across all his material was relatively effortless. We designed and built his website, provided press material for their use (all the while updating any sponsor logos). We also designed his race suit for the MINI Challenge and produced car livery concepts. We continue to support the management team at Jac Maybin racing with all their marketing needs, include designing and producing presentations for the acquisition of new sponsorship partners.
